NinjaTrader 8 · Order flow · Level 2
Stop guessing which game
the market is playing.
Continuation and mean reversion need opposite trades, and the same chart can look like both. FlowRegime scores the environment from order-flow absorption, exhaustion and Level 2 book behaviour — then tells you which playbook is live, and separately which way it leans.
What it decides
One number for the playbook. A second for the direction.
Most indicators answer "which way?" and leave you to guess whether the market will actually follow through. FlowRegime answers the other question first — whether this is an environment that continues or one that snaps back — and keeps direction on a separate plot so the two never get confused.
Trend RegimeScore → +2
Flow is going somewhere. Trade continuation and breakouts, hold winners rather than scalping them, and treat pullbacks as entries instead of reversals.
Neutral around 0
No edge either way. The honest reading, and the one most tools refuse to give you — the indicator is explicitly telling you to stand aside rather than dressing up noise as a signal.
Reversion RegimeScore → −2
Moves are being absorbed and given back. Fade extremes into your levels and scalp back toward value; continuation trades are the ones that will bleed you here.
Bias is a separate plot
Direction runs −2 short to +2 long on its own series, deliberately decoupled from the regime score. Regime tells you which playbook; bias tells you which way. A strategy can read both and only act when they agree — which is exactly what the "setup ready" alert fires on.
Absorption, exhaustion, efficiency
The three components are plotted in their own right, not buried in the score. Absorption is volume traded into levels that refilled; exhaustion is a leg running out of participation; efficiency is how much displacement the flow actually bought. Each has its own alert.
Inside the indicator
Forty-one settings, in eight groups, all of them exposed.
Nothing is hard-coded behind a "pro" tier and nothing is hidden. Every threshold the regime score is built from sits in the NinjaTrader properties grid where you can see and change it.
ATR from its own series
The normalisation ATR is taken from a separate minute series rather than from your chart bars, so the scale means the same thing on a 5-minute chart as on renko. Period, timeframe and the expected per-bar displacement are all yours to set.
Delta persistence and exhaustion
Volume lookback, how many bars delta has to persist before it counts as intent, and the leg lookback that decides when a move has run out of participation.
The book, not just the tape
Depth levels per side, how heavily book behaviour weighs into absorption, and the baseline window that current depth is judged against. DOM can be left on auto, forced on, or forced off.
Your thresholds, not ours
Smoothing alpha damps the score, and the trend and reversion thresholds decide how far it has to travel before the dashboard calls a regime at all.
Quiet when you're not trading
Run always-on, or restrict to your primary windows — optionally zeroing the output entirely outside them so an overnight book doesn't colour the open.
Dashboard on your terms
Position it anywhere and scale fonts, padding and the box together with one number, so it stays readable whether you run one chart or nine on a 4K panel.
Six things worth interrupting you
Regime change, setup ready, absorption spike, exhaustion spike and trend fading — the structural exit cue — each with its own level and toggle, a rearm delay so one condition can't machine-gun you, and an option to stay silent outside your windows.
To your phone
Push regime changes, setups and fades through any NinjaTrader Share service — Pushover, IFTTT, Discord or email — throttled per event type, realtime only, with a test message on start so you can prove the wiring before you rely on it.
It degrades honestly
Live with depth, you get the full book component. Historical with Tick Replay, you get true delta and no book. Historical without it, volume stands in for delta. The dashboard tells you which tier you are on rather than pretending the reading is the same.
Before you buy
What you need to run it properly.
FlowRegime is built around the Level 2 book. It will load and plot without depth data, but you would be buying the tape half of an order-flow tool — so read this before you pay, not after.
NinjaTrader 8
Imported through Control Center → Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On… like any other add-on. No other platform is supported.
Level 2 market depth
The book component — replenishment versus pulled size, and depth imbalance — only exists when your feed provides depth in realtime. This is usually a paid add-on from your data provider, and on some feeds carries an exchange fee. Check you have it before buying.
Tick Replay
Enable it on the chart and historical bars get true delta. Without it, close-location-value weighted volume stands in as a proxy, so past bars read directionally but not precisely. Either way the book component is live-only — no feed reconstructs historical depth.
Not sure whether your feed qualifies? Ask us first — we would rather answer an email than process a refund.
Included free
Five more indicators, at no extra cost.
They are included with the trial and with the paid version. Each one is a separate NinjaTrader add-on with its own manual, so you can put as much or as little of it on the chart as you want. None of them needs Level 2.
The trend read, as two lights
Scores five trend and volatility conditions from the 20/50 moving-average cluster and the 200, and reduces them to a green, yellow or red light for longs and shorts. Distances are measured in ATR rather than points, so the same thresholds behave the same way on ES as they do on CL. Sold on its own until now.
VWAP with three deviation bands
Anchored to the session, with band multipliers you set individually rather than a fixed 1/2/3. Fill the zones between them at whatever opacity suits your chart, or leave them as lines — and raise an alert when price breaks one.
The levels you'd otherwise draw by hand
Prior day, overnight range, opening range, midnight open, settlement, and the Asia and London sessions — each one toggled separately. Three ATR-scaled expected-move multiples on top, with sweep and proximity detection and alerts through the same Share services.
Swings found for you, OTE marked
Detects the swing from your strength and minimum-size settings, then draws the optimal-entry zone and two extension targets. Signals can be held to a reclaim window and confined to two time windows, so it stays quiet outside the hours you trade.
Structure, sweeps and displacement
Tracks swing structure and marks breaks of structure and changes of character, plus liquidity sweeps, rejection wicks and displacement candles — each qualified by ATR rather than a fixed tick count, and each with its own alert.

Questions
Before you buy
Do I need Level 2 market depth data?
The Level 2 book is what FlowRegime is built around, so depth data is strongly recommended and is what the product is priced for. It does not hard-fail without it: the indicator auto-detects three data tiers. FULL is realtime with DOM, giving book replenishment, pulled size and depth imbalance alongside tape delta. TAPE is historical with Tick Replay enabled, giving true delta but no book component. PROXY is historical without Tick Replay, where close-location-value weighted volume stands in for delta. Backtests and historical bars therefore still read sensibly, but the book analytics only exist live.
What is the difference between the regime and the bias plots?
They are deliberately separate. RegimeScore runs from +2.0 for a strong trend environment, through 0.0 for neutral, to -2.0 for strong mean reversion. It tells you which playbook applies: trade continuation and breakouts, stand aside, or fade extremes back into value. Bias runs from -2 short to +2 long and tells you which way. Regime picks the playbook, bias picks the direction, and a strategy can combine the two.
What do I get in the free trial?
The same build the full licence gets, for seven days — all 41 settings, the dashboard, the alerts and the Share services. Nothing is disabled and nothing is watermarked. The five bundled indicators come with it too: ACT Traffic Lights, Session VWAP, Expected Move Levels, Auto Fibonacci OTE and SMC Structure Signals. At the end of the seven days the trial converts to the full $297 licence and your card is charged automatically. If you do not want to continue, cancel from your member area before day 8 and you are not billed.
Is this a strategy? Does it place orders?
No. It is an indicator. It plots five series, draws an on-chart dashboard, and can raise an alert or push a Share notification. It never submits an order and has no access to your account.
Which NinjaTrader version does it need?
NinjaTrader 8. It imports through Control Center → Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On… like any other add-on.
Does it work on renko, range or tick charts?
Yes. The regime authority is an ATR taken from a separate minute series rather than from the chart bars, so it does not depend on your bars having a fixed duration. On fast renko or range bars, lower the Expected bar move (x ATR) setting so a normal displacement is scaled correctly.
Put the lights on your chart for nothing.
Seven days, the whole indicator, no card charged and nothing to cancel. Your key and download are ready as soon as you sign up.
